Reflections

It’s many times the small details that make or break us. Just ask Tyson Gay or Lauryn Williams. These two Olympic hopefulls saw their dreams for gold dashed with their dropped batons. So much practice and preparation stopped by a little inattention.

We know good planning and skilled execution won’t guarantee success. Life really is that box of chocolates. But plans and skills will put you way ahead of the person flying by the seat of her pants.

If I guess right, I’d wager some little thing has nagged the back of your mind this week. The majority of us will have brushed the thought aside in order to deal with more urgent matters. Listen to those impressions.

In this life, there are no such things a small matters. OK, I’ll concede the small ones’ existence. We just can’t always tell before hand which areas of our life will have significance. Live well.

“Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” Luke 16:10
