Someone has stopped the traffic so we may safely cross. This is the
message of Christmas.
The story goes something like this. Imagine your are taking a refreshing
walk. You meet up with a couple of other morning people at the intersection
and look for a break in the commute traffic.
An approaching panel truck slows and waits for you to cross. When you’re
in the middle of the street you realize that an impatient driver in
a pickup is passing the truck. Time stands still for an instant.
OK, everyone made it safely across. And I realize this isn’t a
perfect analogy in every point.
However, we’d never make it to the other side of life if it weren’t
for Jesus. He provides safe crossing.
“This is a true saying, and everyone should believe it: Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners--and I was the worst of them
all.” 1 Timothy 1:15
Rejoicing in hope,
Pastor Steve
