According to the Gallup Organization, excellence is usually realized
with an individual or organization consistently utilizes his/her strengths.
It seems to me that Socrates’ counsel to ‘know thyself’
is flourishing in today’s business world. I’ve tested David’s
counsel to be more valuable in the long run. His cry is to God. “Search
me and know me.”
I’m convinced that I can only truly know myself as I am able to
see myself as God sees me. It’s too easy for me to skew the picture.
On one hand I minimize sin’s hold on me. On the other hand I discredit
my worth. Through His eyes I can fully appreciate my total need for
Him as well as my priceless value. It’s really quite a paradox
of perspective.
Another wonderful insight from God’s world.
Jessie Daniels sings a song that says, “Everything I am is who
I’m meant to be.” Yes, I believe in the re-creation that
the Holy Spirit works in us. But I also affirm that the new me is still
me. Awesome!
“O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about
me.” Psalm 139:1
Rejoicing in hope,
