Reflections

In response to questions I’ve received about the question I asked, “I have no plans to move or change occupations. I do have an opportunity to enter a doctoral program. I have decided to do everything I can to get accepted. I’ll let you know when I find out.”

Have you noticed how much control things we cannot see or do not recognize can have over our lives. Since the weather changed several weeks ago I’ve been sneezing and rubbing my itching eyes. I can’t go anywhere without a spare handkerchief.

Today a large box containing an air purifier arrived on my front porch. I’ve been eagerly, expectantly, impatiently waiting. Allergies have been sucking the life out of my life. And a few weeks ago I reminded myself that I could just continue to cope with the body that is wearing out, or I could work towards a quality of life I desire.

Since I love contraptions, I chose to do something about my quality of life. I opened the box and immediately thought, “This thing is bigger than I imagined.” (Yes, I read the dimensions before I ordered it.) Then I thought, “That’s good. I want it do do a thorough job.”

Something that I can’t see has been affecting my life. I believe it’s dust and molds in the air. This box moves air though it and takes what I cannot see out of the air. I feel better all ready. If it works, we’ll use it for a Christmas tree stand. Otherwise it will become my doghouse.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed be free.” John 8:36
