I came upon a conversation this week that brought me great encouragement. Imagine a friendship with the richest and most powerful person in the world. With a snap of the fingers, things happen.

Imagine that with all this wealth and all this power that this person still seeks you out. This isn’t after your ultimate makeover. This isn’t after your next job or another year of resolutions. This is right now, with whatever you’ve got on life’s plate.

Imagine the pleasure this individual takes in your company, in your interests, in your goals. Imagine the attention given to your concerns.

Now, if you’re having a hard time imagining, go with the real relationship. You don’t have to imagine to have this kind of friend. My Bible says this is just what God is like.

“And the LORD replied to Moses, "I will indeed do what you have asked, for you have found favor with me, and you are my friend." Exodus 33:17
