Reflections

January 23, 2003
Welcome,

While friends of mine in Oregon and Colorado are still throwing snow around in their yards, I'm enjoying narcissus and camellia's. One of my orchids is just starting to open up. The buds on the almond are swelling and ready to burst. Grapes and apples need pruning for a new season.
Life is straining at it's traces, ready to burst out of the gate. Some of you may still be snuggling down in your winter blankets, but don't snooze too long or you‚ll miss the many miracles of new life around us.

My knee injury kept me inside more than usual this winter. So when I wandered the yard yesterday, I realized that I was about one month behind in winter maintenance. Shrubs needed cut back, the roses waited to be trimmed. There's dormant spay to put on the fruit. And if I wait much longer they will no longer be dormant.

We can easily wait on life, believing that the way things are will continue indefinitely. However, God‚s awakenings of mind and heart and spirit could be springing up around us while we dream of better things. Life could go on without us, while we patiently long for something new.
He's here. He's alive. He's working. Catch the miracle.

Under His Wings,
Pastor Steve
